Michelle Buteau is an American stand-up comedian, actress, television host, and podcast host.

Michelle is the daughter of Marie Antoinette and Mitchel/Michel Buteau. Her father is from Haiti. Her mother is from Jamaica. They can be seen here. Michelle is married to Dutch photographer Gijs van der Most, with whom she has two children. Michelle’s uncle (mother’s brother) is The Rev. Charles Henry DuFour. The Rev. Charles was the Archbishop emeritus of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kingston, Jamaica, from 2011 to 2016.

Michelle has stated:

My mom’s from Jamaica and my dad’s from Haiti… my mom’s half-white, her dad was from France… my dad, from Haiti, you know, he’s got some Lebanese in him.

Michelle’s mother has stated, “My mother… she was a mixture of black, Japanese, Jewish, Indian. My grandmother was very Indian.”

It is not clear if this Japanese and Jewish ancestry has been verified/documented.
