A jewelry store robbery in a San Antonio mall left one person who tried to intervene dead and six others injured Sunday. “What we have here is a robbery gone really, really bad,” Police Chief William McManus told ABC News. After robbing the store, the two suspects fled but were stopped by a “good Samaritan” who tried to stop them. One of the robbers responded by fatally shooting the man, police said, and another bystander then shot and injured the robber who’d fired the shots. The second robber fled the mall but fired shots as he left, injuring two more bystanders. The victim’s identity has not yet been released, and the condition of the injured bystanders is not known. Police said they are still searching for the second robber. “We searched the mall and we feel as confident as we can feel that the suspect is not in there,” McManus said.
